Well, thanks to this site (instructions, tips, etc), I was able to switch out the p8400 processor in my 7805u with a T9600.

I went with the T9600 over other options due to the cost factor. The t9600 was cheaper than p9600 by about $45, and cheaper than t9800 by $125. I went through extremeprocessor on eBay.

Install was increadibly easy, with advanced prep help from this forum. I used MX-2 thermal paste on the chip.

My WEI CPU score went from 5.2 to 5.6
    My CPUMark99 went from 335 to 414
My 3DMark06 CPU score went from 2040 to 2556
My 3DMark06 Overall score went from 9238 to 10132, with overclocked graphics in both cases.

Temps with the new setup, sitting on a Zalman NC2000 are 29c when browsing web/posting/etc. and high of 46c when running the 3DMark and 40c when playing games such as LOTRO on Ultra High settings.

So far so good. Thank you to members of this board for all the help/info you provide.

Battery life seems very similar to old CPU. I do not have exact numbers on it though, sorry.
I am not sure what virtualization support is, or how to check it's availability. Any tips?
