Although these parts are available separately, I don't have the time or ability to do this. So, that being said, anything stick out as overpriced or unnecessary with this setup?

All that's upgraded is an extra hard drive and the processor. For $1900, it's a little overpriced, although I'm not exactly sure the going rate of the T9600, I'm sure it's not cheap.

If he actually installed 32-bit Vista on that laptop though, like the specs say, that's just stupid... you're only going to see like 2.5 gigs of ram because of the 1 gig video card

I'd say if you couldn't do these upgrades yourself it's not THAT bad of a deal, however personally I don't think the T9600 is that much of a monster upgrade, and the second hard drive is 120 bucks full retail and that is pretty easy to do. Sure the T9600 is faster, but I really have my doubts that most people using these laptops really need that much more horsepower. And I'm a complete hypocrite because I want a P9600 and have no valid reason to get one.

Yea, missed this one, the guy regularly puts them up though. I am aware of the x32 issue, he would put x64 if I chose.

However, I might just head down to BB and pick on of these up and do the hard drive upgrade myself.

    Thanks.

I don't need the horsepower either of the P9600 but will be able to use the extra cache every day I multitask. Although there would be a price premium having originally even a P9400 would have staved alot of people from doing an upgrade of the CPU.
