What is the best, most compatible memory out there (if there is a best) to upgrade to? I'm putting in 4GB for a total of 6.

I suggest using 2x4GB. That would perform better than 1x2GB + 1x4GB. Got to match memories for maximum results
-
Well for what I'm doing I need more then 4, but I don't want to pay $500 for 8GB. It would still be a performance increase though wouldn't it if I got 6GB? Even if they didn't match?

Considering the numbers yes but the best judge would be the one who has tried it. The rule of the thumb is having identical memories. $500 isn't worth it.

You have tried 6GB in your P-7805u FX?
-
Nope. Never needed more than 4GB. Try this site

Great, thanks for the info Maverick

These should work for 8GB ram, $380.00 too.......

I'd rather go for the Kingston HyperX 4 GB CAS 5 kit... does anyone really need 8 GB?
