I've been thinking about upgrading my CPU (I've got a 6831fx), but I'm on a low budget and unsure what to go for. Do you have any recommendations?

Get the T8300. It goes for 115 on ebay now. Its 2.4GHZ i believe and 35W so it will run cooler and faster.

Wow, that makes me wish I used eBay...lol! I tried to buy a T8300 but couldn't find it anywhere retail (well, I ordered it from buy.com and got screwed over, but that's another story). I ended up getting a T9300, but it was a lot more expensive then I would have liked. I'm happy with the upgrade, but if you can get a T8300 for $115, or anything under $200, it'll be a great deal and your system will be much faster.

This is the best way for low budget. Also for $200 you can have the X7800, which is hotter asnd consumes more power, but is faster and can over-clock through the BIOS to 2.8Ghz and 3.0Ghz. Check ebay for links.

I vote for T8300 though, cooler and less power is better IMO.
