Hm, that's a pretty impressive score for those specs id10t. Unless... thespy007, did you run 3DM6 at native res, or the free version settings?

    Same question goes to id10t.

174.16 seems to be a non-beta driver for the 9 series, so it should be stable. In fact, I included it in the latest XP driver pack.

Im using default 3dm6 settings from free version. I cannot for the life of me get any 174 driver to work. I copied the inf and when it installs nothing happens. Thats quite a score you got there id10t.

The ram im using is cas 5 667 mhz.

I wonder if that 7200 raid 0 was what jacked up your 3DM6 score by a lot.

I'm having that exact same issue, the newest drivers I can get to work are the 171.16's. I have them working fine on here and also on a Toshiba X-205-SLi2 at work... Huh.

    Never mind, fixed.

The difference is not very likely due to the raid configuration. If anything that would speed things up. The fact that id10t's score is considerably higher with a slightly slower cpu might be due any or all of the following: (just some thoughts)

    1. tweaked vista configuration (with minimal services and background processes)
    2. over clocking the graphics card
    3. the slightly different driver version (he is using 171.x)

You would be amazed at how much you can speed up benchmarks and overall system performance by simply eliminating a ton of unnecessary services and background processes.

yeah the difference is with the CPU, 3D06 scores drastically alter with a better CPU

But id10t has a slower cpu with a faster score. That's why I was pointing to the possibilities above as the reason the OP is seeing lower scores.

Your scores are right about where they need to be. With the 7500 my non OCed 3dMarks are around 8100. OCed I can get up and over 9200. My guess the other reported score is for OCed GPU. I dont have my HD in RAID configuration and I'm using the stock 3GB RAM.

My Vista is a clean install with hardly anything running in the background. (Mem utilization a hair under 600MB)

If your non OCed T7500 got around 8100, shouldn't his T9300 be around the 9000's?

Not really, the T9300 is only .2GHz faster and some more L2Cache. The L2 cache is a bit of a waste since it has been seen in many benchmarks that anything over 4MB is overkill.

The advantage of the T9300 is the lower power draw and core temps. Lower power draw = longer battery life. Lower temps is good for longevity of the laptop.
