Hello everybody! I recently had to do a fresh install of Vista on to my Gateway P-6860 because everything was messing up. Now i have Vista running and everything, i just cant get any drivers because i have no network driver on my laptop. I went to the Gateway Site and got a driver for my network adapter and installed the file onto my jump drive, and then put it in my laptop, but it didnt work =/ Can someone explain to me how to get my network driver working and what/where to download it from! Thanks!

Did you download all of the required drivers, or even better - did you install the drivers that Gateway included with your laptop? Did you install the drivers for your hardware (there might be more than one driver download - make sure you get the right one)? Have you visited the Gateway board and looked for a guide on how to install Vista?

I only installed the network adapter driver and it didnt work =/ Its a exe and it runs and extracts itslelf to a folder in program files. Then i try to set that as my driver and it says windows has determined that the driver software is up to date.. when there is no driver at all!

Do not use the windows driver search. It will probably wont find it anyway.

Get them from the Gateway website.
