I have a Gatewat Laptop MX6956 and would like to upgrade the video card so I can play games on it. It seems the video card it currently has isn't good enough for games. Does anyone know what is a good Laptop Video Card compatible with my machine?
If you can give me more than one name I'd greatly appreciate it!

You cannot upgrade your video card...see the GPU Guide. You definitely can never upgrade an integrated card.

So... do I have another option (other than to buy another laptop) or am I just S.O.L when it comes to playing games on my notebook...?

    Thanks!

Well, games that are 3 or more years older should be fine. There's also a possibility that the Asus XG Station could help you out, but that isn't supposed to be available through retail channels.

I'd stick to the oldies but goodies.

NeverWinterNights (the original, not the second one), Grand Theft Auto: Vice City works on mediumish settings, Diablo, Diablo II, FF7 & 8. FarCry might work, but you'll have to install the latest patches available. Halo's possible as well but on lower settings. These are the games that I currently own that I used to play on that card, but keep in mind that many of these games will have to be played at medium to low settings. I'd say install them and tweak the settings until the playability suits your desires.

If you have the GMA950, here's a good start for compatibility. For the GMA 900, click here.

These are Intel's testing results, so take them with a minor grain of salt...but I used to own a notebook with the GMA 900 so I'm speaking from experience: stick with the green dots on that list and you should be okay.
