Hey guys, I've been experiencing some really bad choppiness when playing videos from Youtube or Hulu fullscreen in Firefox or when playing 720p videos in VLC player.
Flash player is up to date and everything. I don't understand why this beast of a machine can't handle this stuff.

Common issue tied to the down clocking of powermizer on the video card. It has been discussed in many threads..........
-
I know that...but my laptop has always been plugged into the wall and powermizer is OFF
-
you have done the registry edits to turn it off? If so have you also checked the actual clock settings with a utility?
-
I used this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=273276
I set it off for A/C and on for battery
But it still is at 169.0mhz even though I restarted!! -
I think I might have a CPU issue too. I don't have a lot running (only browsers etc.) and itunes always skips while playing songs
-
I had to remove the manual entries to allow 1.2 to add it's own entries into the registry. Now I run the GPU at 100% alll the time. -
I made a thread on this issue too. What I find helps is going to task manager, right clickin on firefox in processes, and set the priority to high. It gives a marginal performance boost.
-
Well I've been running with powermizer off for A/C and on for battery for a while...but ever since I first made this thread my laptop will overheat if I just let it sit for a while without something underneath it. Any Idea why?

have you tried disabling hardware acceleration for youtube and hulu videos. Just right click on the video click on settings, then hit the video tab on the screen that pops up and uncheck video acceleration.

I had ridiculously bad video lag on my FX using every single driver available, and after a complete OS reinstall. Last week I installed 7 and the problem went away.
By the way, what program are you using for your videos? The latest Windows Media Player is working really well for me. I used to use VLC but microsoft did a great job with WMP12. -
I think I found the problem. My laptop is running EXTREMELY hot. When I bought it 14 months ago it ran fine and the GPU never went over 70C even when I had my laptop on a couch or bed. Ever since I made the powermizer changes my laptop has ran extremely hot. I now average 100C with my graphics card and 70C with my CPU on a flat wood desk surface. Obviously, both of these temps are ridiculously hot.
When I prop my laptop up with a textbook I get better temps but still hovering around 75C for GPU...I used to get a max of 60C for my GPU on a flat surface when I played Crysis. Now I get 75C with my laptop propped up when I'm browsing the web. -

Just figured out what the problem is. It's my external display. I drive a 1080p 32" through HDMI. When I plugged it in my avg temp went from 65C to 105C in a matter of minutes.
