Weird Harddrive question on P-7805u...

Okay how to explain this...
Well, Thursday night I had 100GB remaining.
Last night, I had 95.2GB remaining.
Tonight I have 84.6GB remaining.
I'm not installing/downloading/saving. ANYTHING..
Wheres my space going?

 

do you have system restore enabled?
because it will make a restore point and that takes up space on your HD

But what have I done since Thursday to make it "Need" that space...? All I've done is browsed (On here, on myspace, and on aol.com for my mail) and played Call Of Duty 4...?

 

Sounds like a software problem to me.

Find whatever is taking up all that space.

 

Any guidelines on what kind of software it could be or?

EDIT:
Oddly enough, Running O&O Defrag got it all back for me, Plus 3GB.
Took 2hours to run it and I have 103GB now.
Odd thing is I just ran a Defrag on Wednesday, I don't get how 18GB of space got "fragmented" in 2days without downloading, installing, or anything.
Oh well. Thanks for the help anyway

 

CCleaner might help, not sure what it could be though other than system restore. interesting to hear that defrag helped

 

CCleaner is a nightly thing for me, I tried running it before the defrag but it didn't help :\ still love it though
Yeah I'm really stumped on what the problem was. Oh well... Just glad I've got my space back! lol
