I have a p-7811fx and switched the motherboard to p-79 series. Everything was fine until I found this weird issue.

When numlock key is on touchpad is disabled. When I use the touchpad (with numlock is off) it works but the numlock light is on. I tried to disconnect and reconnect the keyboard and touchpad cables then it worked the way it supposed to for a while then back to the issue. Re-installing the touchpad driver won't do anything.

Has anyone experienced the same/similar issue?

    Windows 7 Ultimate

Touchpad Version: Windows XP/Vista and Win7 64-bit Edition v15.2.20(the latest from Synaptics)

There is no error message when it crashes. It just does it as I described.

I use MS Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000

I use an internal version of bluetooth dongle

If I reconnect keyboard and touchpad cable, it fixes the problem temporary then all of sudden touchpad starts not working with numlock key is on.

very very interesting. I will try on Ubuntu and see if it does the same thing.

ok. The problem seems resolved. There was a little Al foil piece around the connector. After removing the piece the problem does not appear again. I wonder how this little piece caused such weird problem constantly, though. Thanks TANWare for your concerns.
