And the wireless card will not pick up any internet connection, so i am using a different computer in the house at the moment, do i need to download a certain driver to a disk and bring it my computer?
I was told i have a 5100wireless card, but regardless, i couldn't find the correct driver for it.
Also, once i do have internet on my computer, does this mean i could just go to device manager and update them all automatically using the internet?
No i did not back up anything, this was a big mistake.
The reason i reformated in the first place was because while windows was booting i would get a random blue screen and it would restart immediately, then asking to put in safe mode because windows was not shut down properly etc etc, but since i reformated, im not sure what i should be doing now, please help ASAP
And thanks in advance

And you can get most of your drivers...the gateway website will have the rest.
For the most part.
You really should have made your recovery DVD though. Some of the drivers Gateway uses are bloody hard to find. I dont know if you kepty your recovery partition, but if you did make a point to clone it and back up your drivers. -

Well, I'd suggest WinRar, it unzips virtually any compressed file type.
Okay, well which Vista are you running, 32 bit or 64 bit? This will give us a start. -
How would i know if im running 32 bit or 64 bit?
Edit: Sorry when it comes to driver's and stuff like this, im pretty illiterate. -
-
Well, which one did you select. . . 32 bit (x86) or 64 bit (x64).
64 bit is the one that came factory installed. It supports all 4 gigs of your RAM, but some programs don't work for 32 bit.
32 bit is the other option. It only supports 3 gigs of RAM, but it supported by all software.
Whichever one you want to be on, is your choice. I started at 64 bit, but had trouble with game installations, and some porgrams, so I switched to 32 bit. I lost a gig of RAM in the process, but I now receive support for all programs. I'd say for now, stick to 64 bit, unless you have some weird programs which demand 32 bit support.

But anyway, after this question, whats next? Thanks alot btw everyone.
Edit: Btw, iv'e had 4 gigs on 32bit, and 4gigs on 64bit. -
To clear things up, there is no 86 bit. It's x86, but that's 32 bit. In my opinion, stay on 64 bit.
Here is the Wifi driver for 64 bit Vista: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det... Vista* Home Premium, 64-bit version&lang=eng
Once you download it, send it to a flash drive and send it to your laptop. Install it, and bam, you should get internet.
Yes, what I meant was you'll have 4 gigs physically on both. But, 32 bit Windows can only virtually recognize/utilize 3 GB of RAM. 64 bit can recognize and use all 4 GB of RAM.
Hope this helps. -
