I have NO CLUE and am a Noob when it comes to BIOS's and the benefits/advanges of having what version over what..are newer versions just like updated versions? Or is it like drivers..that certain BIOS versions work better for each individual? Thanks.

Right now I have BIOS Ver. 1.00PARTTBL

And also, I ran msconfig and disabled my startup programs that I did not want, but noticed I have 60+ process's running at all times. Do you guys recommend killing some of these services? If so, is there a Vista 64 guide/writeup to which ones to kill? I am just trying to tweak everything so I am running tiptop! Thanks

BIOS POST lists it right at the top I see my version # every time I turn on my laptop. You probably have quiet boot enabled in BIOS so you're not seeing that. I think it's listed IN the BIOS also.

Thanks A Global Threat, you are always pretty on with you answers. I will reboot and check as soon as my defrag is done. Any chance of you answering my questions in the drivers (sticky) section of this forum "Gateway" and also my post in the OS/Software forum regarding system restore. Thanks again

you dont have to re-start your lappy to find your bios version.

go to: control panel, system, performance, advanced tools, view advanced system detail in system information, BIOS version/Date

Another good way I learned recently is systeminfo in the command line. It gives you pretty much everything.

And I'm using the .10 bios. I didn't like .12 because the fans made a 'bing' noise when stopping. .10 has a small headphone jack problem, but other than that it works great. Haven't tried .17.

Well thanks everyone. Sounds like I will stick with the 9C.17.00 I have as people are doing well with it. Thanks for the Vista Tweak guide sentance. I have done most of those but still cant figure out what services to kill ; ( or how to do cleanup my system restore points and shadow copies. If you get a chance please see my post in the Windows OS/Software section titled " Help with system restore" and also my post in this forum on the sticky for "Definitive Driver upgrade guide" Im looking for an answer on whether I should uninstall NVIDIA DRIVERS and PhysX Drivers at the same time and then reinstall new ones. Or if I should do them seperately or not do the PhysX driver at all. Also, If I should run driver sweeper right after or reboot in safe mode and run it then? Sorry Im rambling, you can answer in those posts instead of this one as it would be off topic! Thanks!
