What Gateway Is This? Good Deal?

Hey guys!

I am a student on a rippling budget, but in desperate need ofa laptop. I thought I might aswell go for something averge-good and think of it asan investment. Retail outlets are too expensive so I have decided to lookk second hand (eBay etc).

I came across a good (so it sounds) deal on eBay for this machine.

Firstly, is that a machine Gateway produced or is it a crapper one that this guy has modded himself? I ask this because I found an identical looking Gateway machine here and thought this guy just changed a few things round, including the processor.

Secondly, is that a good machine and worth the asking price of £600?

Thirdly, if that laptop has not been modded and is a genuwine Gateway product, please could someone let me know the model/make and number please?

I don't know if it's a Gateway or not, but I think there are better ways to spend your money. Look at something like the HP dv1000. Also, take thte time to post your needs to the hardware forum for other recommendations.

The laptop you provided is totally inferior (spec and price wise) to the laptop I linked you to so I don't see how that would benefit me :S.
