Hello all, this is my first time posting here. I've been reading these forums for about a month now ever since I got my Gateway FX laptop,( which I love! ). I'd like to say that the members here seem to be more mature and insightful than with some of the other forums I have seen. :) Anyway sorry for the long post but what desktop card would you say is roughly equal to the 8800m gts? I personally know that it is more powerful than my overclocked Foxconn Nvidia 7900gs. Thanks for any input.

My opinion would be that it is a round about equivalent to the Desktop 9600m GT. Hope this helps. God Bless :)

^ dont read that thread...bunch of misinformation

its comparable probably to a 320mb 8800GTS, maybe closing in on the 8800GTS 640mb

Because it only has 64 stream processors, peformance-wise, I'm going to say the 8800 GS.

Corrected. Yeah, the G92-based 8800m GTS has almost the same specs as the 9600GT. 64 stream processors and 256 Mbit memory.
