I dont even know what other kinds of minicards there are. I've only seen wireless cards. What are some other types? THANKS!

bluetooth, turbo memory, TV cards (if your system supports it), modems, sound cards and a host of other things are possible. But wireless ethernet, bluetooth and turbo memory are probably the most common implimentations (wireless wins that by a mile)...
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini_PCI#Mini_PCI for general info or just google "mini pci card" for specific implimentations

yes, as I said, wireless cards lead the pack in terms of variety. You can find turbo memory if you look for it and I've seen bluetooth cards as well. The sound card and others were Dell and HP likely designed to work in conjunction with other components specific to their laptops.
