After reinstalling windows 7 (32-bit) I noticed that games were really choppy. So, I thought installing the latest NVIDIA driver would help. I went to the website, selected my graphics card, and installed 275.33; it didn't help. In fact, it hurt. My 3dmark06 score went from 7006 (default driver) to 6835.

    Which driver should I use?

    Thanks for your help!!

Hi, thanks for your advice. I tried installing that driver, but when doing so was given the following error message:

    So apparently it won't work.

Are there ANY drivers for the Gateway 6860FX that work well with Windows 7? It sucks that this gaming laptop is only a few years old, but can't play even the most basic games..

When you downloaded the Nvidia driver, did you download th e32bit or 64bit? Let Nvidia suggest the driver for you.

Also, have you tried playing the games at lower settings? Even though it's a gaming laptop, newer games are more graphich intensive. My 7805u has problems running many newer games at high settings. Play with the settings to get smoother playback.
