I got an Audigy 2 ZS Notebook and, same as many, experienced the disturbing pops and clicks. Also routing the PowerDVD to SPDIF would bring only a terrible noise.
Browsing the web I found that the solution had to do with replacing the generic PCMCIA drivers with the right ones. I downloaded the ENE CB1410 drivers. After installing them (got no warning), the SPDIF problem was gone (YES!), but I keep getting the annoying pops and clicks while playing music. Perhaps those aren't THE drivers I need. I have already updated all of the Sound Blaster's drivers.

Does anybody know the exact make/model of the 7422GX's PCMCIA controller in order to get the right drivers? This machine deserves audio much better than its AC97 with only one stereo output.

I found another forum where the card was identified as ENE Technologies CB-1410. Assuming this is correct, the drivers you are using should work. Did you get the drivers from their website? I have the desktop version of the Audigy card that I use with Cakewalk Sonar for music production. I experienced the same pops and clicks that you are describing. The solution was adjusting the ASIO driver buffer latency for the Audigy card itself. I am not familiar with the notebook version but I would assume that there is a control panel that will allow you to adjust this, as well as the sampling rate and hardware acceleration. You may want to check out Creative's site to see if you can find any info regarding this problem. I really feel that the solution is with the Audigy and not the controller. Hope this helps.

    Good luck,
