This might be a dumb question but..

Can some one tell me what kind of battery (or which one will work)

On the gateway web site it said.
    9-Cell Lithium Ion 86.58 Whr (2.6AHr)
But what kind of 9-cell Lithium ion battery can I find in the market will work for the laptop?
    Thanks.

I will give you some advice... "never use aftermarket batteries"

Only ever use manufacturer approved batteries, because the "just in case" situations are almost always a complete system frag. Sometimes you can get one that works perfectly, but if not you have a very real possiblility to destroy your system.

Why do you need another battery anyways? The 7805s havent been out long enough for your battery to be dead already unless you charge and discharge it 2-3 times a day

So so so true. I had a dell E1505 and the battery died. Dell wanted like 150.00$ and ebay had them for 60.00$ so I bought 2 of them from two different sources. Both Died in like 2 months of use. With that I would never ever buy a replacement unless the its from the Manufactures. Pay the extra cash for the better battery.
