Hi, just wondering, is the P9600/2.66 the largest replacement processor that the P-7805u can thermaly handle.. I would imagine that it is, as it's the only one matching the same (25w) thermal foot print of the P8400.
Is anyone here useing a P9600, and if so, how's she running?

i think it can handle extreme cpu if i'm not mistaken but i'm pretty sure it can handle the t9800

dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
x9100 that i know of
-
all except for quad cores that are not supported.
do not worry about that -
I'm using T9600 and there are no issue with heating.. works really good.
I'll probably upgrade to X9100 when the price go down. -
I put a T9800 in mine. No problems whatsoever.
-
i also put t9800 in mine and runs everything fine. did 6 hours of prime 95 test on it and max temp i've got on it was 65c on real temp or hwmonitor(and 70c on core temp) without any undervolting.
i am currently waiting on x9100 to arrive and will test it on mine but some ppls already have x9100 on their p-7805u and they are having no problem with it. -
WoW... seems like few options.. And all without a BIOS or chipset update?
-
No Bios & chipset updates needed.
Plug and play.. -
T9800 - undervolted 51C max, 20C idle.
-
On another note, i noticed that the X9100 is at 44 watt chip.. The factory chip is only 25 watts, and the T9800 is 35 watts.. I just can't see how the cooling sysytem can handle the 44 watt X9100 chip. -
Since you can't overclock above 3 Ghz you most likely will never get to the full 44watts. The Xtreeme series is rated to over clock to that.................
