Adobe Reader for PDF's is a resource hog and has parts that always want to run in background.

I removed it, and installed Foxit Reader 3.0. It only checks for updates when you run it, and opens much faster.

    Also, uninstalled Netzero and Earthlink.

Got rid of Norton, too. Running AVG Free.

Also removed the MS Office trial.

    Can't remember any others.

If you have something else that is questionable, ask and maybe one of us can help further.

Have you tried using PCdecrapifier? It should suggest stuff to delete. You should make an apps and drivers disc. Do that and then delete what you think you won't need. If you ever want them back just install from that disc.

Google the stuff you aren't sure of to figure out if you need it or not. I remember I deleted a progam called Big Fix. I hope this helps.

Cool, thanks for the info guys..

I just did a fresh install of Vista for the hell of it, I was going to do it right away but never got the chance.

I'm thinking of just waiting to put anything on it because im going to buy another 320 HDD and set up RAID.

But for now I'm removing the crap.
