What voltage does the P-6831 use for the AC Adapter? is it 19volts like other Gateways?
-
-
ya output 19v is what it says on mine.
-
Thank you, that was fast

Anyone know if using the ac adapter from the m675 will work with this? 19V 7.9A 150W
-
As long as the plug fits, no problem. how much?
-
Anyone got the dimensions on the AC adapter connector/plug?
-
ya if you can get a 150w adapter to work id be all over that for OCing
.
-
Well, you could cut the plugs, just make sure you get the polarity right. I did it for my 1705.
-
i have a brand new 150w PS for a 1710xps still in my closet wonder how hard it would be to get it to work .
-
If it's two wire no problem, if three wire type, I would not. Use a meter, center should be negative, check both plugs on both adapters.

Hello everyone.
Does anybody know if FSP150-1ADE11, that works with Gateway M675 series M350WVN can also work with p-6860fx? -
i just got my adapter repaired. the guy was concerend about the 6.32amperes 19v etc of the original gateway for replacement. the new one he offered matched but it got quite warm whithin 3-4 mins of bootup/idle. total output (130w) was not written on any adapter.
thank god he could repair the original. I'm looking for a future replacement . the targus one seems good. others, even though the specs might seem the same, have to be able to handle a gaming lappie at full load. -
.. Anyone?

Electrically it might work, but the connector apears to be a different size. This page: http://www.nevershopping.com/ns010603.html lists the connector dimensions as 6.3mm outer and 3.0mm inner. This page: http://www.laptoppartsexpert.com/i-59641-ac-adapter-130w.html lists a supposedly compatible adaptor with a 5.5mm outer and 2.5mm inner diameter which is the same as the connector on my p6860fx which should be the same as your p6831fx.
