    What voltage does the P-6831 use for the AC Adapter? is it 19volts like other Gateways?

    Well, you could cut the plugs, just make sure you get the polarity right. I did it for my 1705.

    i have a brand new 150w PS for a 1710xps still in my closet wonder how hard it would be to get it to work .

    If it's two wire no problem, if three wire type, I would not. Use a meter, center should be negative, check both plugs on both adapters.

    Hello everyone.

    Does anybody know if FSP150-1ADE11, that works with Gateway M675 series M350WVN can also work with p-6860fx?

    i just got my adapter repaired. the guy was concerend about the 6.32amperes 19v etc of the original gateway for replacement. the new one he offered matched but it got quite warm whithin 3-4 mins of bootup/idle. total output (130w) was not written on any adapter.
    thank god he could repair the original. I'm looking for a future replacement . the targus one seems good. others, even though the specs might seem the same, have to be able to handle a gaming lappie at full load.
