The 7915 has a 320 gb harddrive while the 7908 has a 500 gb harddrive. That's the only difference I can find. Is there any other differences? Because I can't justify paying $200 more for the 7908 just to get a bigger harddrive. Anyone know if there are any other differences?

Well, assuming the Gateway website info is correct -

the comparison h e r e only shows the HD difference.

Man on mine it says the same thing for both except for the harddrive.

    17" High-Definition Widescreen Ultrabright™ Display (1440 x 900 resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio)8

Well, again, we are assuming the Gateway site is correct.

I can tell you from exprience that it isn't always:

The specifications on the site, h e r e for the P-7905u do not show the 1920x1200 display I have, for example.

So what your saying is you probably get full HD along with a bigger harddrive for the extra $200. So I think I will go with the cheaper one sonde I already have a WD harddrive and I don't need full HD

No, I'm simply saying the Gateway site isn't always accurate. They do say that the specs are subject to change somewhere on the site as well.

I'm saying that the only difference I can see from site is the HD difference, but that may or may not be the only one.

It really doesn't make sense that there would be a $200 difference between a 320G and 500G drive though, does it?

Also, and somewhat related, my 320G drive is a 7200 rpm drive.

same reason why 7805u was $200 cheaper than 7801u.
7915 is bestbuy exclusive so they are cheaper. ^-^
