The 7915 has a 320 gb harddrive while the 7908 has a 500 gb harddrive. That's the only difference I can find. Is there any other differences? Because I can't justify paying $200 more for the 7908 just to get a bigger harddrive. Anyone know if there are any other differences?

Well, assuming the Gateway website info is correct -
the comparison h e r e only shows the HD difference. -

There's one other possible, though unconfirmed, difference. Amazon lists the P-7908u as having an LED backlit screen. http://www.amazon.com/Gateway-P-7908u-FX-17-Inch-Laptop/dp/B002QPWBY0/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1255866935&sr=8-11

Man on mine it says the same thing for both except for the harddrive.
17" High-Definition Widescreen Ultrabright Display (1440 x 900 resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio)8
17" High-Definition Widescreen Ultrabright Display (1440 x 900 resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio)8
according to gateway site the screen is the same. -

Well, again, we are assuming the Gateway site is correct.
I can tell you from exprience that it isn't always:
The specifications on the site, h e r e for the P-7905u do not show the 1920x1200 display I have, for example. -

So what your saying is you probably get full HD along with a bigger harddrive for the extra $200. So I think I will go with the cheaper one sonde I already have a WD harddrive and I don't need full HD
 -

No, I'm simply saying the Gateway site isn't always accurate. They do say that the specs are subject to change somewhere on the site as well.
I'm saying that the only difference I can see from site is the HD difference, but that may or may not be the only one.
It really doesn't make sense that there would be a $200 difference between a 320G and 500G drive though, does it?
Also, and somewhat related, my 320G drive is a 7200 rpm drive. -

same reason why 7805u was $200 cheaper than 7801u.
7915 is bestbuy exclusive so they are cheaper. ^-^
What's the difference between the gateway 7915 and the 7908?
