So they axed the 7811 and now they only have two s available: the P-172X, $849, and the P-7801u FX, $1699.
Are they axing the P Series line?
Waiting to release a new series, or what?

Er, the have the P-1705u at BestBuy for $1050 (sale) with 1GB 9800M GTS and a 320GB 7200 RPM HDD, the only difference from the 7811. Its not online yet, because the official release date isn't until Jan 4.

If I could find some more info on that beast and it looks good, I'd jump on that in a heartbeat! -
EDIT: Oh, is the sale online or only in store? Thanks.
How does that compare with the MSI GX620 for $949?
I'm not looking at high end gaming, just something that will play C&C3:KW on medium and BF2/BF2142.
EDIT: Actually I'm guessing the Gateway is better GPU wise.Duh, 1GB ram vs 512 ram.
Too bad I can't afford it!
Oh, and has there been any heating problems? I read some people had heating issues with the 7811. -
2 hrs straight of COD4 at 1920x1200 (w/ all stock timings) = max tzs0/1 of
65C and gpu core < 70C. Not bad really. -
I heard they fix the heating problem and the sale is only in store.
-
$1049.99 is the regular price.... sale should put it around... wait for it... $899.99!!!
At least that's what our stock system would lead us to believe. -

fxp7811 ftw

-
when is it gonna go on sale for $899
i need to know beforehand -
-
I've only heard them go on high spin in the firefly test of 3dmark06. But I don't know what to compare it with? This is my first P-FX series....
-
-
Hmm, the middle level spin up pops up and dies down in 1 sec. I've got to observe it more closely I guess.
-
Actually I want something more portable than 17", so I'm only looking at 15.4" models, which is why the P Series is out of the question until the have a 15.4".
Thanks
