I tried to play a few games with maxed out settings (for example RAGE from iD software) and noticed a noticeable HDD laggg!!!
I am wondering whats the best SSD for my laptop. I know that there is no SATA III on board.
    What would be your choice???

Crucial M550 or Samsung 840 evo are both good choices.

In real word with lower compressible files you will find no SSD will flood even SATA II. Now if you are a benchmarkaholic well then................

I am not a benchmarkoholic. :) All I want to know is that IF i buy a SSD, will it change the situation and I will have no more HDD lags and FPS drops. Or maybe I should add RAM. Now I have 4GB. As far as I know 7805u can work with 8gb.
RAM or SSD. Or maybe both.

It looks like not enough of us has put a SSD in our 7805u's to give you the answer you are looking for. We all know that the OS and other programs will load faster if you use a SSD as there have been thousands of reports on that for other computers. Whether your games will run faster is not so clear as most games make use of a GPU to display faster frames. Remember, our 7805u's are getting a little old for the latest games now but they are still powerful productivity machines. Great for office programs, video editing, etc. I do a lot of accounting and number crunching and video editing and it still works good for that. I have not done any upgrades except installing Win7 64 and video driver which I upgraded last year.

No SSD will guaranty better gaming. The norm is actually there is no gaming improvement other than faster loading. 8GB ram will only help in games that can use it or where there are so many other things running it prevents page file usage. If you have FPS slowdown or stuttering it usually is the CPU/GPU having issues. This does not discount if you are having HDD access freezing as this is where a SSD could help.

This is now a 5 year old mobile design, by gaming standards that is ancient. While it has held up well if you want smooth gaming it is time to move on. Just remember that unless you are going to spend a nice chunk of change that even a new system may not play recent games liquid smooth.

I have an SSD installed in my Gateway FX laptop. Gaming performance isn't affected significantly unless you play HDD intensive games that require quick loading. For example, I noticed that late game turns in Civilization V ended considerably quicker than usual. Same thing can be said of games that require loading screens to "set up" like Counter Strike: GO (when loading new maps). However, don't assume that making the expensive upgrade will improve your fps at all.
