    Getting a gateway in Canada is more of a problem than in the USA. Bestbuy and Walmart are your best bet. Costco do sell them but seem to quite limited in their stock. I have a gateway p 6831 fx i bought at bestbuy last year, to be honest that was a fluke.
    Last week i bought a gateway from Walmart for $698 http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/2008/MSeries/M-7309h/M-7309hsp3.shtml for the wife and she loves it. Check out the spec it's very nice for the money. You can buy the same laptop from Bestbuy http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10118166&catid=25253 but it's $100 more.
