I've tried to find a T9300 for my P-6831 FX, but I have been unable to locate one. Where have you guys been able to get it? Newegg and other online retailers don't seem to have it yet. The T5450 stock CPU is choking this noteboo's performance!

    Google products - T9300.

Many people have had great experiences with Lagoom. Search around this forum, there is a thread that shows where to buy the T9300 from a few places.

I offered $500 and he countered $600. Still a great deal I think.

BUt I will probably pass. I still have hopes of a pin compatible quad core (although its looking slim).

I started my bidding at 350. He countered at 600. Then I offered 550 which he accepted. I am a little bit in disbelief because I never really thought I would get the x9000 nor spend more that 1/2 grand on a cpu lol...

I should actually be getting it in the mail later this week, being that it was shipped from China. So far I have spent just under 2K total (not including taxes :)) on my P-6831FX laptop, upgrading it to 2X320GB RAID 0, 4GB RAM and X9000 penryn cpu. I have an external 1080p monitor that I will use for benchmarks when I get a chance.

    flynnaz,
I didn't notice any improvement with 4gb ram. Not sure about the timings, haven't messed with that before. I got 4gb because I plan on upgrading to a 64bit OS sometime.

Here is a link to the ram stick that I bought. It says it is CL 5-5-5-15. I got it a couple weeks ago from buy.com for $20 after rebates.
