    Hi
I've been searching for awhile now, and I can't find anyone who still sells these. I really want one for 3 major points:

    -1920x1200(I don't want a 1080P laptop)
-Standard keyboard layout with standard numpad layout
    -Dual HDD bay

Even ebay seems out of stock...

There is a Gateway FX Laptop p7809u on ebay now starting bid $500 but no bids. Maybe you can grab it.

I could be talked out of mine for the right price. I use it every day and it has never skipped a beat. P-7811 FX with 1920 screen. I have 2-300GB Hitachi drives, 4GB memory. I have not ever opened it up except to add the hard drives. I have shot the vents with air from time to time. I will put a fresh Win7-64 Ultimate install after I wipe the drives. No extra mouse included. I bought it new 3 years ago from Best Buy. It is a great notebook and this forum has every possible piece of information on the FX series.

I think they were bringing around $700 on eBay not too long ago. Anyway, that is what I would take. I really don't need anything better but would take the opportunity to move to i7 and plunk down $1400 or so. No clue what I would get.

    Shipping would be OBO. Paypal.

Just PM if interested. I will provide pics upon request.

Same here, my baby still runs everything game I throw at it with amazing performance! As long as the Ps3 and Xbox360 are around, most games probably won't evolve to newer and more hefty standards, so I see the 9800m gts and the x9100 being able to handle games for quite a while from now.

I'd be intrested in selling mine.. It's a stock one with the 19x12 screen. Single hard drive but has the open other one just not cage I don't think.

Some of the keys are starting to show wear on them and the "-" key the one side clip is broke from previous owner but it still works and you can get a replacement cheap off ebay.

I'm just starting to think about downgrading as I don't use it much if at all anymore and my wife using it for farmville and couponing is alittle extreme.

I've had my P-7811 FX since the day it came out and still use it on a daily basis. I am about to replace it but would rather keep it than sell it. It's a great lappy and will find future use as a HTPC in our exercise room. =)

Well, I'll be the Devil's back end ;)

Mine is still running fine but it chokes on Witcher 2..as a lot of machines do.
Day to day stuff is fine, but the lack of gateway support?

My next machine will be a Clevo a week after this one croaks..if the darn thing ever croaks!

I'd like to see some i7 1920x1200 machines but even Gateway would have gone 1080P. This is why I can't force myself to give up the 79xx yet.

I would love the added performance but it really is not needed, the system with the q9200 and 260m is more than adaquate.............

I still have mine but with the 1440 x 900 screen. I don't mind the smaller screen since I wear glasses anyway. Only prob is Star Trel Online is kicking this things .....anyone have any idea how to make it run smoothly?

Great Laptop. Only issue I've ever had was my annoyance with the noise that the fan consistently makes even when not gaming. I think you should check Craigslist. A few of them pop up every so often.
