I'm a newb so please be patient with me. I want to do some upgrades on my stock 7811fx. I'd like to start with the processor since it seems like the biggest bottle neck. After that I would like to change out the RAM for 8 gigs and add a second hard drive.

Could anyone recommend which processor would be the best for this comp?

    THanks

Not sure if I want to. WHat is the difference between the x9100 and the T9900?

They both are default 3.06 GHz, the x9100 is an extreme CPU so you can overclock it out of the box. Our bios does not support extreme CPU so you will have to use TS................

If you use the x9100 or T9900 at stock settings either will be at 3.06 GHz. The advantage of the x9100 is you can also overclock the cpu beyond 3.06 GHz with ThrottleStop................

Yes, the bios supports the extreme CPU, but not overclocking it, we use a program called Throttlestop to overclock in software instead :)

If you overclock the X9100 it will run hotter but if it is running at stock speeds it should be very similar the the T9900.

The x9100 at stock should run no hotter or minimally so. It could run hotter when you OC it but that is about it..............
