My best guess would be Arima, because Arima is (or was, I can't remember) Gateway's ODM. Other than that, it's a guess, and I don't know exactly why this is important??

I would also guess Arima, as the M-15x series/M-6851/M-6850FXM-6864FX are basically the W650i (no info on arima on it, though).

Gateway has pretty much always used Arima, even going back to the AMD 7xxxGX series that were popular a few years ago...

No, not at all, it's just an odd question to ask. :)

Not so odd if you are looking for drivers or BIOS updates in a pinch. Don't know if it helps in this situation but can come in handy.

For instance I have an Everex XT5000T (don't get me started) which is really an Amilo (something or other) in Everex clothing. There is a bios update for the Amilo that did not exist for the Everex (a hopeless company that should not be in the laptop business). So with a little hanky panky one can flash the XT5000T with the updated Amilo bios. There were some advantages with fan speed thresholds and IRQ assignments.

I'm just saying it sometimes comes in handy to know who makes the laptop for the reseller.

There was a fire hydrant proximity clause in the warranty, if I remember correctly.

Actually got it under control with under volting, new paste, etc. But it seems the GO7600's are prematurely assuming room temperature so I'm not planning a long term relationship.

On the bottom, where it says "model number," more than likely the Arima model number is there - ie, the M-6851 I had said "W650i" I believe, which is the Arima model number for that unit.
