I have been having the same issue for almost 7 years. I tried everything. Various drivers. laptop BIOSes. Cleaning using vacuum cleaner and removing the dust. FANspeeds. changing options in GPU bios. Nothing. Currently I am playing Black mesa and dealing with the problem. FAN doesnt spin up. DOesnt cool. GPU gets hot. Throttles. temperature exceeds 100C. FPS drop down and end of story. ANYONE else having same damn problem ?

Mine seems to be fine so far, what model are we talking about? I see you have previously posted about a P7805. If this is it, and the header has not burned out, you may =need to get a new fan or HS/ fan combo.

Yes, you have to pull it apart, daunting task. CPU access is so much easier.

    So what I did?
    1) Cleaned with vacuum cleaner.
    2) Came back to 9c.17
    3) Lowered voltage on GPU to 0.97.
And now it seems fine. I believed that newer BIOS = better. And amazingly lower voltage on GPU means = more fluency in games. Even when overclocked.

Finally I managed to disassembly the whole laptop. I gathered an access to GPU. I found a solution for gpu fan not to spin off. Too much thermal paste aroung gpu prevented sensors from reacting at certain temp levels. I also used 9c.20. I undervolted to o.95. final clocks are 690/1725/890. I realised that too high OC slows down the gpu and brings atrifacts.
