What do you think about this article???

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_future_Intel_Core_2_microprocessors

Among the mobile processors it mention potential future models like T9950 (3.2 GHz), X9300 (3.33 GHz), X9500 (3.73 GHz) and QX9500 (Quad, 2.93 GHz)

All of them standard Socket P

What do you think???....we have to get ready to spend our hard earned cash on new CPUs or it is pure Wikipedia wild speculation??

I thought the current model offering was the end of the road for performance oriented Core 2 Duo CPUs.

I cannot find mention of such models anywhere else using Google or on the Intel web site.

Those sound great if they were to be offered in the future. I am pretty sure that its possible with all of these CPU's, perhaps with the exception of the X9500, that 3.73GHz clock seems very high.

That sounds just a little crazy. I mean, I just couldn't see 3.73ghz from a chip family that currently is only at 3.06. That's not to say I wouldn't buy it :). Also, since they should be launching mobile nehalem soon, are they really going to launch something like the X9500 or QX9500 3 months before they're going to be outdated? That seems like an insane waste of R&D money.

I agree with the above. I dont think its realistic. i7 is about to get outdated with intel going to 32-nanometer processors core instead of 45-nanometer processors and even working on 28-nanometer processors. Here is just a few of the articles:

the above mentions laptop getting shipped with them....

Its pretty much bullocks, motivena has already had its refresh with the t9900 and the like so it would make no sense for intel to do another refresh.

Capella is going to be out in a few months so there wont be anything new from intel i wouldnt think until then

well... no the x9100 is still superior but only in machines that can OC it. So yes for non OCable Gateways you are "king of the hill" :p
