Hello all. I recently backed up my OS WIN 7 as a disk image and also created a install disk and had a question. If I was to purchase an SSD would I be able to install the contents of my back up onto it with out the windows product key and would it reinstall all the programs that I had "disk Imaged"?

You must take the original install and shrink the volume size to below that of the SSD you plan to install. Once you have done that create an image of the install using backup over a USB drive etc.

You then can use this with the created install disk to restore to the SSD. Once booted up expand the volume on the SSD to full size again and you are good to go...........
