    Hello,

I am planning to purchase a graphics card for my PC and so far this is the one I could find at a reasonable price: "Sapphire Radeon X1950 GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I Video Graphic Card." The only issue is, I have no way of determining if it will work on my PC, although, I do have a PCI-e 16 slot that I could put it int.

I have a eMachines T5048 and here are my specs for it: ( I don't know what kind of power supply I have)

OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Professional
    Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
    Other OS Description Not Available
    OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation
    System Name Miguel
    System Manufacturer EMACHINES
    System Model T5048
    System Type X86-based PC
    Processor Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.06GHz, 3066 Mhz, 1 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)
    BIOS Version/Date Intel Corp. GC11010M.15A.0030.2006.0707.2039, 7/7/2006
    SMBIOS Version 2.4
    Windows Directory C:\Windows
    System Directory C:\Windows\system32
    Boot Device \Device\HarddiskVolume1
    Locale United States
Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "6.1.7601.17514"
    User Name Lourdes\Mike
    Time Zone Eastern Daylight Time
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 2.00 GB
    Total Physical Memory 1.87 GB
    Available Physical Memory 916 MB
    Total Virtual Memory 3.75 GB
    Available Virtual Memory 2.65 GB
    Page File Space 1.87 GB
    Page File C:\pagefile.sys

P.S. It has two DVI ports and one S-Video port, so I would imagine the card has to be an older model, hoping it'd work fine on my PC.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me out. I would appreciate it BIG time! Thanks in advance.

Here your slots specs and computer specs

eMachines T5048 Specs - Desktops - CNET Reviews

    1.0 (total) / 1.0 (free) x Memory PCIe x16

So it looks like it should take a card that is PCIe x16 card the next question is does your e-machine have a power plug for the GPU that isn't Sata power or 4 plug modular plug power plug. The power plug for a GPU is very different and if your PS doesn't have such connector your will have to find GPU that accepts the 4 plug modular plug in type or that would limit your upgrade to GPU that doesn't have extra power plug to it.

    Hello,

Sorry for the late reply and thanks for replying too. My current power supply doesn't include a GPU power cord, but I did order a 600w power supply and has that particular cable and will get it sometime this week.

Will the new power supply work? It seems to include SATA's and a PCI-e cable, which I'm sure it's the same as the GPU cord. I don't plan to overdo my PC, I just wanted to add a graphics card and that's about it. Everything else seems to work fine as far as using a second HDD and a Blu Ray player to it.

    Hi,

I am looking to purchase a new CPU and I don't know if this CPU will be good for my PC? It's an Intel Pentium D 925 3.0GHz 800MHz 2x2MB Socket 775 Dual-Core CPU.

Now, the specs for my machine indicates that the socket is LGA775 and the specs for the Pentium D is just a Socket 775. Is there a difference between LGA775 and 775 alone? I know it's a Land Grid Array, I just wanted to be sure that my motherboard can support it along with a new power supply I'm adding. (600w).

    Thanks again.

Well I looked at ebay with the LGA775 intel processor and found a listing but to be sure you have to get a service manual for your eMachine and see what CPU was available for that unit to be sure the processor you replace with works for your eMachine.

I couldn't really find one but I tried it anyway and it was pretty hostile towards the new CPU. lol So I'm backing off of that one instead. But thanks anyway, though. Much appreciated! :)
