    just recieved a reply from the guy selling it.. here's what he said: It will work great in a P-7811. especially if you have the newest Bios updated. It will show up in Bios as Core 2 Extreme @ 2.26 Ghz and will list 4 individual processors in device manager. I have ran these in MSI notebooks and also Gateway P-7805 which is similar motherboard. Vista performance score will hit the roof!

    If this is true, then he's answered the question we've all been trying to find an answer to for however long!!!

    I read in his description that the 7801u supports it, so .17 bios adds support (?), and the whole socket p' issue really isn't an issue at all?! :)

    Gosh... Hopefully e-wrecked can find a way to extract that bios for us!

    I would try to see if you can get a second confirmation from someone else before taking one guys word for it. But do as you will.

    Yeah i would want the opinion of someone not trying to get $300 off you. but if it wouldn't be a big hit to your wallet maybe you could be the one to tell us all if it works or not for sure...
