After finishing installing Win7 pro on my gateway p7811fx, I realized that gateway official site does not offer driver for win7 on such model :(

I ended up using vista64bit version instead.
To be expected, not everything works.....

I cant install sound card driver... (there IS sound without driver, but i still prefer the driver)
I could install webcam driver, but after restarting 3 times, it still does not work " Webcam driver fail. Please restart camera or computer!!!"

What should I do to fix the webcam error? Should i keep running win7 or return to the vista which is fully supported?

What if I wanna turn back to " factory setting" now? I lost the gateway recovery disk btw..

Driver's for Gateway P-78 Series should be fine with your model.
Just make sure of the device manufacturer's.

Besides having to download video driver and touch-pad driver everything works excellent! I would never go back to vista mayby xp but could not get sound working.

How did you go about installing this driver ? Remove any previous drivers installed for your camera. Try installing from device manager and let windows install by itself from the directory you specify.

I first installed by running the setup file( P-7800_WEBCAM_CHICONY_6.2.251.627.zip - Chicony Webcam Driver Version: 6.2.251.627) downloaded fr gateway site -"driver and download" tab.

i also tried your way, install using device manager..... but it still does not work................. :( :(

It was doing that because it was disabled in Device manager, reinstalling just enabled it by default lol. I disable my webcam all the time and thats the message I get when I startup the computer or press the cam button forgetting I had it disabled lol.
