"Cannot complete assessment. The assessment or other operation did not complete successfully. This is due to an error being reported from the operating system, driver or component."
This is the message I have received over and over again prompting me to reinstall OS/reformat HD and reinstall everything else and at one point was able to run it and get a score. This morning after a windows update and some software installs, again with the error message. Anyone else have this happen? Whats causing it? Very vague in the message, I guess "...error being reported from the operating system, driver or component." includes everything but the actual box it came in. Help is of no use.![]()
Thanks in advance.

I get the same thing, maybe the drivers are just buggy.

Mine gave me a 5.9 stock. Not sure but I would check your device list and make sure everything has the correct drivers. On the nvidia driver I am running 191.05 I believe.
-
I believe this happened after I installed 3DMark06 last night and OS cardreader drivers, HDaudio soft data fax drivers, realtek HD audio drivers and some windows updates today.

I turned off Kaspersky and ran it and I still got the same error.

Doesn't matter that you turn it off! You have to remove it completely, run WEI, and then re-install it. I'm surprised that fix didn't work for you. It did for me. Do you have the 9.0.0.736? I know that the 9.0.0.436 doesn't have this problem.

Tinderbox (UK) BAKED BEAN KING
I got that message when i upgraded for 3gb to 4gb , memory checked out fine though and no crashes.

If you have KIS 2010 9.0.0.736 go to Settings-Options-uncheck Enable Self Defense-click OK, then go c:\Program Files X86 \Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Security 2010\ x64....scroll down and find the following files..Sbhook64.dll & kloehk.dll...rename them Sbhook640.dll & kloehk1.dll....go back to Settings-Options-enable Self Defense-click OK.
If you have 32 bit the only difference is C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Secirity 2010\
I believe you also have to re-name a file mzvkbd3.dll in 32 bit.
I hope I remembered everything right! If not, you can google it. It will have everything spelled out on Kaspersky's web site. They were to have an update for this, but you know how slow they can be. It drove me crazy for a few hours checking HD's,memory, etc. until I checked the log file and found out everything pointed to Kaspersky. -
Forgot to mention you have to re-start for changes to take effect! DUH!!!

Hey, just found the address at Kaspersky's for the official fix again.. http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208280937. This way if my memory's bad (most of the time) you can check it out yourself.

Ran it and WEI now functions. Whew! I really didn't want to have to reinstall everything, one by one, in order to find the culprit. -

Here's mine. Actually, since I re-ran it the Cpu score dropped a point
