The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Windows 7 on 7811?

    You have to upgrade the video drivers...

    You have to install the media reader drivers...

    Use the ones meant for vista, they work fine on 7.

    If you installed 32-bit windows 7, use 32-bit windows vista drivers. If you installed 64-bit windows 7, use 64-bit windows vista drivers.

    Navigate to this key in the registry and make the following changes:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Sidebar\Settings
    3. Right-click and create a new DWORD (32-Bit) Value called AllowElevatedProcess.
    4. Right-click AllowElevatedProcess and click Modify. Set the value to 1. Close the registry editor

    got it. it works now. i thought it was suposed to upgrade automatically from windows update ;)...thanks

    I installed it a week ago and I've had no problems so far...I love it! Its a big improvement over Vista.
