    Hi all:
The harddrive in my Gateway laptop failed so I got a new SATA harddrive from a local store and tried to reinstall the Windows Vista using the Operating System Disc from Gateway (Windows Vista Home Premium (32bit) SP1). After I enter my product key, I get the following error message and cannot find any resolution to this problem. It reads" Windows cannot open the required file D:\Sources\Install.wim. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installationg. Error code: 0x8007000D". I have no idea why I am having this issue. Can anyone please help me?

Does that mean I need to purchase a new DVD drive just to install Windows Vista??? Is that the only solution?

it looks like theres no guarantee if it'll work.
so i would borrow a friend's dvd drive or take it to local computer shop and explain what you need to do..
or you can try burning the cd again.
