    Does having windows vista AERO ON affect gaming performance by occupying to much ram or cpu usage?

    Run task manager and see if there is a difference, I would not expect one.

    I don't think Aero alone would bog down your system. Check how much resources you're expending now-

    Also, here is a couple of threads on optimizing your system. My laptop went from utilizing 1.25 gb of RAM to now 628MB--- YMMV

    It will affect low-end PC's Performance. But not Gaming Performance. Aero has no features to use (and take resources for) inside of a game. ;)

    Vista disables Aero when running full-screen games...

    aero is turned off as soon as you launch a game in fullscreen.
