Does having windows vista AERO ON affect gaming performance by occupying to much ram or cpu usage?

Run task manager and see if there is a difference, I would not expect one.

Also, here is a couple of threads on optimizing your system. My laptop went from utilizing 1.25 gb of RAM to now 628MB--- YMMV

It will affect low-end PC's Performance. But not Gaming Performance. Aero has no features to use (and take resources for) inside of a game.
-
Vista disables Aero when running full-screen games...
-
aero is turned off as soon as you launch a game in fullscreen.

Are u serious i didnt know that, very interesting i will turn it back on then.
