I've read through a good many of the threads on this forum (I can't be sure that I have seen all the possible threads as there a lot of information on this sucker, love you guys for sharing the info) for the P-7811fx and I haven't seen a thread with quite the same issue as I am having at the moment.

The problem I'm having is with being Disconnected from the server while I play WoW and I am not sure if this is related to the 7811fx or something else. I checked with my network and I was not lagging or having congestion so I'm not sure why I'm getting Disconnected from the server 2-5 mins after logging on.

I have updated my video driver to 8010 and I'm not sure what else I'm missing. I'm not crashing from the game but just getting Disconnected from the server every 2-5 mins after I logon any servers.

Going to update the wireless driver, just thought about it.

Thanks in advance for any help,
    Phong.

Sounds like upgrading your wireless drivers would help. either that or it could be a firewall issue. just a suggestion though, you should play wired instead of wireless. it could solve the problem and also could prevent lag if you're experiencing any.

if I were you, I'd try to monitor my network connection to see if, when I get disconnected, all of the internet access is down or just WoW. If it's just WoW then you have a firewall or game issue, if it's all your internet access then you have a drivers or network issue.

Can you connect over wire? Skip the wifi and see if you have the same problem.

I've been playing WoW on my 7811 and love it. I don't have the disconnecting issues you are having though. I've played in both a wired, and wireless environment.

I'd do as they suggest and upgrade the drivers on the wireless and also try hooking right up to the switch/router via wired mode.

Thanks guys for responding, I will have to wait a few more days to test a wired network as I'm stuck here at a hotel that only has a wireless network. I'm just glad that what I have is not game crashing/freezing issues that I have been reading about on various other 7811fx threads. I did update my wifi driver and still have the same issue, going to check the firewall setting now.

This sounds like a problems with your internet, specially if it's wireless, the signal may not be strong enough...

To be sure of this, open the command prompt (i. xp Start>Run..., nto sure where to access it in vista) and type this:
    ping yahoo.com -t

you should get a steady stream of text lines saying something like this:

    Reply from 233.223.233: bytes = 32 time= 72ms TTL=51
    Reply from 233.223.233: bytes = 32 time= 78ms TTL=51
    Reply from 233.223.233: bytes = 32 time= 69ms TTL=51
    Reply from 233.223.233: bytes = 32 time= 67ms TTL=51
    Reply from 233.223.233: bytes = 32 time= 68ms TTL=51

if the number in bold is too high then the internet connection sucks, or if you are getting many time outs, then it's the connection.

As others have stated try a direct line connection through the ethernet port whenever you can.

I typed CMD in the little search bar under Start (with vista) and it brought up the command line. I then type in "ping yahoo.com -t" and basically output line was "Request timed out." I then tried to ping google.com I get the same thing. However I have ran speedtest.net and got very good download (1000+ kb/s), upload (~900 kb/s), and latency (<50 ms for same region, St Louis at the moment) numbers. I also ran the speed test from dslreports.com and the numbers from them are also similar or better. Am I compare incompatible tests? Not sure if vista just doesn't do ping right? I doubt that but it seems odd that I can't get any response when I ping yahoo.com and google.com.

I will ask the front desk to borrow their wired connection later tonight to test the connection and if I get booted (Disconnect) from the server.

it seems the problem is internet service provided by the hotel.
1000kb download speed is very slow. if ur far away from router, u will get disconnected quite often. the speedtest. net is for server .
for the real speed ur getting, try http://reviews.cnet.com/internet-speed-test/

I don't belive you have a problem on your end. WoW patch 3.02 just came out last week and all realms have been having connectivity issues.... I was experiencing the same thing on my 7811fx, and even tried 2 other machines in the house: same issue. Blizzard has been doing hotfixes all week to try and remedy this... I'd say just be patient. Btw, I play on Anub' Arak and the realm still has issues every now and then. I'm hoping maintence day today will fix some of that.

I did noticed their MOTD about the network issues, I guess I was just a bit worry about my new laptop since there has been a good many issues people have reported here on this forum.

I'm happy to say that I'm a bit relief that the only issue I have had thus far is Disconnection from the server rather then a game crash like some people have reported.
