well done, i'll be able to bench again on friday, i'll have a proper go to see what i can do![]()

and waiting on my tax check
-
nope, thank you! because i stopped checking clocks when i got the high score at 10831. thought it was maxed out then.
now after seeing your quick run through without really doing anything, gives me renewed hope in us reaching that 11k mark! -
-
well i am running my new [email protected]
very very happy
scored 9021 on 3dmark06(never bothered with a clean install)
which is a bit more than 2000 point over the old t5450
again thank you for the info -
congrats on joining the x class cpu group
is that over clocked or stock?
and at what resolution is that? -
the [email protected]
the gpu is stock
resolution is 3dmark default 1200x800 -
i used zalman zm-stg1 thermal grease
i think something is wrong
using TAT it gets to 90+ c within 1min
what kind temps you see under load ?
idle using power saving is in the low 40s -
hummm, i think i have seen mine go as high as 90c's when doing some serious testing..
-
well in game temps are ok
cpu 70 max
gpu 65 max
still something doesnt seem right -
on another note
11k baby!!
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=6777651 -
well done mate, going to be a close one i think, what are you gpu clocks?
-
thanks, but you deserve the credit for this.
650/970-976 -
johnnsss what are you default clockings?
-
500/799 are my defaults.
-
johnksss, hey, what modded driver version are you using?
-
175.63 is the version and they work very well for gaming...i can accually play crysis overclocked. about 575/800 memory and it seems to stay on. might try some higher clocks later.
-
update:
now using drivers 175.75 and they are working fine.
new 3dmark06 score:
11126
i have reached our goal of 11100... im done over clocking for a few days...lol -
I have a quick question:
I use my laptop primarily for gaming (COD4) but will soon be encoding as well (HD video using ADVHC). Am I better off with an x7800 or t9300? I am basically torn between the importance or cpu speed vs. cache for these applications.
thx. -
x7800 will beat out the t9300 but the t9300 has a newer technology/45 nm/lower temps
-
ok. not worried about temps too much since I already use a cooler and a few minutes of battery life don't matter much either. I have found a seller who'll do the x7800 (ES) for 175 Euros shipped (thank god I still have some Euros left... the dollar is such crap right now!)
btw- any difference for ES chips... or anything I should look for? -
wasn't really expecting on getting an es chip myself.... but give it a supper hard go through foor the first week. so you have plenty of time to send it back if it doesn't work right.
-
the x7800 is a beast
highly recommended
as to battery life, can always down clock it and under volt it if needed.
X7800 @ 3ghz = 10475 Marks
