    Will this processor work on the P171X FX laptops I know they come with the
    Penryn T8100 but is there any differance with the Extreme processor I want to put one on my P 171X FX from gateway..

    Anyone done this yet if so tell me if it was worth it is the computer blazing fast?

    I think the T9300 would be the best bang for the buck in terms of performance and pricing.

    ya i know but I might be able to get one that is reasonable I just want to know if it will work and how much of a performance will it have.

    If the notebook supports Penryn, it should support the X9000, but why would you pay so much for an X edition processor you can't overclock (keep in mind that the core multipliers are generally only available in the BIOS, and most manufacturers do NOT include core multiplier customization in their BIOS options)? I second ScifiMike12's comment that the T9300 would be the best bang for the buck. You're paying around $580 more than the T9300 for 300 MHz, which is barely more than a 10% jump.

    The only thing "blazing fast" about that is the speed at which the money burns up :D

    Can you use RMClock if there is no option in the bios?

    I dont know that much about computer yet. but I guess that the RMClock is some kind of FSB changer right....
