Well I just purchased a X9100 QHBH for my 7815u and was curious what bios people are running and their corresponding performance and temps or if there is a specific bios that is more optimized for these Xtreme series processors.

There is no bios specifically for the X9100. To keep the GPU temps low use Bios 9c.17.00 or lower. The lower the heat of any component the better as the X9100 OC'd generates alot of heat.
To OC the CPU our only option right now is Throttle Stop............. -
I'm curious about what you mean regarding using those bios's and keeping your gpu cool. This 7815 came preloaded with 9c.23 and I've always thought it ran a little warm but could you expound on why these earlier drivers keep the gpu cooler?
thanks

What I know is that In 9c.17 the GPU is kept cool all the time (i.e. the fans kick in when the temps get over ~47 C), but in newer versions, the GPU is heated up to ~70-80 C before fans kick in. So essentially the earlier versions keep the GPU cooler, although I'm not sure if the same applies to CPU as well..

Thats exactly what I noticed. My gpu idles around 70-74 while I kept seeing people on here saying theirs idled around the 40-50's. Anyone actually know what else was changed in these bios's? Is there some type of change log after each release? Is it possible to retain any of the other changes made to the bios but just adjust the GPU fan kick in by editing the newer bios's?

Not sure of any differences other than GPU idle. While CPU isdle is not effected there is no reason to have a hot GPU without fan for hot air to bleed over to the CPU side when the fan is trying to cool the CPU.............

absolutely ridiculous! Taking your advice I just went from the factory 9c23 bios to the 9c17 bios and my gpu temps went from idling at 70-74 to idling at 46-50. Also I notice LESS fan pulsing than I did with the 23 bios, now it seems that the fan is running slowly all the time but before it would pulse from off to what seemed like full on. feeling the amount of air that is coming out it is very cool and very little. Before if i could hear the fan there was a gush of very hot air and when I could not hear the fan i couldn't feel anything coming out. I highly recommend any 7815 users to downgrade their bios to ver 9c17!

9C.20 works fine for me with my laptop cooler which keeps the idle to 40-50C. I'm not recommending it, but I am recommending a laptop cooler.

I'd agree with the laptop cooler, I run a NC2000 and love it. My GPU idle low without the fan really kicking in at all. Always good to have fresh air there for even when it does kick in too.
I won't recommend any bios version specifically. while the .20 and above are warmer they also keep the GPU at a more constant temp. Temp variation is supposed to be the killer of nVidia chips with the solder issue.............
Since I am not a gamer and won't see the higher temps for any stretch, so the 9c.17.00 fits the bill just about perfectly for me. -
I had it on 9c.20 for a good while but I got tired of the abnormally high temperatures and occasionally I noticed that Aero would turn off at random. I downgraded to 9c.17 and the issue went away after that.
