Hello, just wanted to get some info on XP for 6860. I should b receivin 6860 within few days (fingers crossed) and I just wanna get ready for XP installation. Where can I go for specific information on what drivers to prepare and some instructions ?
I went to the sticky and checked both threads but one is 98 pages long and other is 50 pages long and search thing is just a basic google search of all site now so I can't sech specifics.
Maybe some of u have specific link to what I need ?
Also are the guides for 6831 work for 6860 as well ? I don't think there's any harware difference between the two.
Even though Vista shouldn't b a problem on this fast machine I'm just too used to XP :)

This is the site I used to XP working on my 6860fx:
    http://neonpulse.net/2008/03/06/windows-xp-on-the-gateway-p-6831fx/

Note however, that Gateway has XP drivers for some (not all) 6860fx hardware on their website. I haven't checked recently, but it could be that Gateway has added drivers that make some steps in the referenced guide unneccessary, so go and check out Gateway's site 1st.
