So i just update to Xfastest driver 180.70 and got a new high mark for 3dmark06, OC'ed of course, but all stock, I'm very impressed by this driver, i'm getting about 10-20 more fps on COD:WaW, I think I'll be sticking with this one for awhile.

    Sick.

Would it safe to assume, that this driver would be the best for 8800M GTS aswell?

I'm getting great FPS using it for gaming on my 6860! (As in 80-90 FPS on CoD:WaW OC'd)

narsnail-- i just run the test at the default settings which is 1280x1024.

SeeyouintheEr-- for the test i was overclocked to 738/1020/1900, however for gaming i went down to what i always game at and that is 700/950/1800 and still noticed the huge jump in fps in CoD:WaW so i would say this thing is a real beast when it comes to gaming

Also i ran the test at stock clocks and got my highest score for that too it was 8789, so I'm very impressed with this driver and it also seems to be very stable with the overclocks too

    Try this SeeYou,

    1) Nvidia control panel
    2) Manage 3D Settings
    3) Next to Multi-display/mixed GPU acceleration choose "Single display performance"

    sounds nice.

Hwo is OC with this driver. Were you able to OC higher then with Dox's and lv2go's version

I really want to be able to hit 650 950 1600 on my 8800m gts.

WHICH ONE OC HIGHER THIS ONE OR DOX'S VERSION OR LV2GO version.

Stable clocks will be based on your card and not the driver I'm pretty sure

Link to the drivers? Are they better and more stable then the 178.85 that E-wrecked tested?

Mainly I just want a link to the drivers.

yeah in fact that is the driver i was using before, with the xfastest 177.85 my high 3dmark was 9669, so not a huge increase on the benchmark but it is way better in games.

I'm mot that worried about the 3dmark scores, but I just reinstalled windows XP on my 6860fx and installed the 180.70 xfastest.

Now, I can't seem to overclock my card at all.

Even if I put 550/800/1300 It will still fail, when I was getting 625/900/1400 while using the 177.85 xfastest drivers. Is there anything in particular that these drivers improve on? Or is there someway to get higher OC speeds using the 180.70 xfastest drivers.

edit: after more tinkering, I was able to get 525/800/1300 on the card, which is still pretty low compared to what I was getting on the 177.85.

huh, i don't know what the problem might be bc I find this driver to be on par with the 177.85 as far ad OCing is concerned, I use Vista 64 and have a 9800m GTS, but i wouldn't be able to say whether or not any of things have an effect on the driver, hopefully someone can come up with an answer for you

Thread back from the dead!! haha well I'm using nvidia 179.28 now and increased my score massively since this original post my score is in my sig. Two big reasons for it are bc 1 i got a targus 180w power brick and 2. i installed a hell of a cooling system on my desk and it keeps my temps super low and i was able to overclock like crazy. I plan on taking pics and making a thread to show what i did but I've been busy, maybe I'll have time tonight.

Another 180w convert. The 120's that are included, and even the aftermarket ones, just can not keep up with these systems. This is especially true as we upgrade or add external periphials or even push them to their limits.

185.20 is so good, but for me it keeps my GPU fan on medium-high all the time because the GPU idles at 44C. Is there any way to get that to stop, like by changing my bios? I'm running .10 right now. When I run 9.12, my computer makes this "bing" sound whenever the back fan kicks in.
