i am about to get this computer and was wondering if it had dual hdd bays, cause i saw some ppls specs and the said 2x320gb hdd or something like that so anyone? thanks
-
-
Yeah it does. Comes with 1 320GB HDD and an empty bay.
All you've got to do is buy a 2nd HDD and place it in the empty bay.
-
so could i put two 500gb hdd's
-
Of course.
Though I'm sure you already know this, but that would mean a full reinstall of Vista because you'd need to install it on one of the new 500GB HDD's.
If your going for storage space I would recommend leaving the 320GB and installing a 500GB for storage if your not to experienced with installing Vista. -
yea i was thinking on installing WV ultimate anyway.
-
Oh okay, than yeah, two 500GB's will work perfectly fine, you could even RAID0 them if you felt like it.
-
ya i have no idea how to do that so ill just keep it plain and simple and just let them work the way they are
-
also, when i install the two 500gb hdd and the WV ultimate, would i have to get the upgrade or the full version?
-
Well since the HDD's would be completely blank you'd have to install the full version.
Unless, when you have your 320GB hard drive in, you burn the Recovery discs, which is basically like a version of Vista 64bit Home Premium, than, you just install that onto your 500GB drive, than you'll have Home Premium, than you can do the update. -

You can ghost over the partition to avoid reinstalling everything. However vista may ask to reactivate/repair due to the hardware change.
