Hi, I have been looking for an affordable laptop for music recording, and after a long struggle, I found this Gateway MX3562 at CompUSA. -

    http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=333365&pfp=cat1 <--- there's a link for all the specs

I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions, or any feedback on this laptop. I have found only a few reviews online. So, any help would be much appreciated.

The compaq looks good, only thing I have seen so far that it doesn't have is an 8X DVD+/-RW Drive. I was wondering how much of a difference there is in burning dvd's and cd's with the 8X dvd rw drive in the gateway, then in the DVD+/-RW drive with the compaq.

Looks like the HD drive sizes are the only difference between the 3558, 3560, and 3562. They are 60, 80, and 100GB respectively by the looks of it. I have a 3558 but not much info on these laptops around as it seems they came out recently. Novemberish from what i've seen. Loving mine so far. The slim design is great. Met my needs well with the wireless, SD card reader, great screen and the dual layer dvd burner is great. Does everything my PC does and its portable.
