    anyone know how to install a new keyboard on the T-1628

    i just got my new keyboard from Gateway ... because of pre-mature chipping and fading on my original

    i cant figure out how the keyboard gets switched out
    i have looked all over the gateway web site .. checked all pdf files online and checked my documents and books that came with the computer

    any help ?

    You might need to call Gateway to provide you with instructions on how to replace it. Only tip I can think of is that there are screws at the bottom of the laptop with keyboard pictures/icons (very small) that will need to be removed first.

    This is a old thread but I know how to do it :p


    Look under the laptop and look for the one screw thats labeled "K" for keyboard also remove the battery and remove the screw on the left hand side, which lets you remove the media strip.


    Thats all
