    hi guys I noticed that after a playing some artic silver 5 nto mi cpu and Gpu on mi gateway fx the CPU is getig hot! :mad:

    You applied too much, too little, or did not properly mount your cooling assembly.

    and you didnt apply any to the GPU unless you tore the whole machine apart..which I doubt is the case. Ya shouldnt have removed the blue pad! ;)

    yes i did! i removed everything :cool: I had mi motherboard outside the case! :cool:

    Too much or too little will both cause problems. You basically just want a thin coat of it as all its doing is filling in micro gaps in metals that are allowing perfect connection between the heat sink and the CPU.

    For first time users the credit card method is usually the best. Put a dot on the CPU and then spread it thin with a credit card edge. Works pretty well.

    Then make sure you sit your heat sink perfectly and you haven't damaged any of the thermal pads.

    After that you should be golden.

    Also for first timers (and others as well) i recommend the AS Cermique. Its a bit more forgiving of accidents and is completely null when it comes to conducting electricity

    Clean it all then redo it...OCZ freeze and mx2 are both better and easier to work with.

    What kind of temps you getting on the gpu now?

    GPu are perfect the max temp is 54c but the cpu is kind of hot :S
