I have gotten some pretty good battery life out of my laptop, and it no doubt needs replacing by while its plugged in it shuts off when the battery reaches 0 percent, am I doing something wrong in my control panel / battery options? is there something wrong with my cord? any tips and trick would be great I read though the battery life article and I have a new battery on the way ... but what if I just want to have it plugged in all the time and have the spare battery for when I am out and about, will this fly?

well its de-charging when the computer is up and running, I am charging it by leaving it plugged in with the power off, the paper weight wont work without the battery plugged in.
